A Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) is a specially designated area in India where imported goods can be stored, processed, and re-exported without paying custom duty upfront. FTWZs are treated as foreign territory for customs purposes – meaning duty is only paid when goods finally enter the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) of India.
